Hi, and thanks for having me!

As the Snow Falls is the story of Kade and Byron, two guys who have been friends all through college, although they’re now out on their own. When Kade’s family goes on a cruise and leaves him behind over Christmas, Byron is there to offer a holiday celebration for him with his family. After a day of last-minute shopping, a casual dinner, and an evening wrapping presents, the two watch a Christmas movie and Byron ends up lending Kade some emotional support. As the movie ends, things begin to heat up...

Excerpt:

Byron squeezed his shoulders as the credits rolled. “Hey, you okay?”

Like this? In Byron’s arms? Yes, he was fine. A smile wormed its way past his holiday funk. “We should definitely watch this movie again. Um, some other year, though.”

He turned his head to let Byron see that he was okay, even if parts of the movie had stung, and found Byron close.

Really close. Their noses almost touching. All Kade could see were intense blue eyes watching him and feel the gentle brush of breath as Byron exhaled. He smelled of popcorn and chocolate and a little of the deodorant he favored, but Kade was barely aware of that. All Kade knew was those blue eyes and the deep sense of…need there.

He wanted to close his eyes, to savor and hide from that look, but then it might all end. They stayed like that, eyes locked, for a dozen heartbeats. Byron blinked, and Kade thought the moment broken.

Then Byron leaned forward and pressed his mouth to Kade’s. Warmth tingled from the contact of those soft lips pillowed against his. Kade’s lips parted, trying to breathe in everything that Byron was willing to offer. Deepening the kiss, Byron teased his tongue along the inner crease of Kade’s lip, barely tasting. A soft grunt of need wormed out of Kade’s chest. He opened his mouth wider, welcoming Byron. The tongue plunged in, and Kade was ready to lie back and be ravaged.

He groaned and turned, reached a hand up to tangle in Byron’s hair. Immediately he wished he hadn’t. Byron jerked back with a gasp, eyes wide in surprise—maybe even horror—and Kade’s hand fell from those soft waves as if it were no longer attached to him.

Byron scrambled back, arm almost burning Kade’s flesh it pulled away so fast, until they were once again on opposite sides of the couch. “I shouldn’t have done that.”

Be sure to check out the rest of As the Snow Falls, out Monday, December 11. It can be found on NineStar Press’s site, as well as all major vendors (Amazon, B&N, Kobo, etc).

Christmas is fast approaching and Kade's parents have abandoned him for the holiday. Thankfully his best friend, Byron, invites him to spend the holidays with him and his family. That night, in the dim glow of the Christmas tree’s lights, Byron and Kade share a kiss, but Byron backs off before it can go further.

Can Kade stand up for what he wants and convince Byron he’s not so easily broken, or will he need a Christmas miracle to bring them together?

Today I’ll also be giving away a digital copy of last year’s story, A Christmas for Oscar. To enter, leave a comment below letting me know what you do to get in the holiday spirit! Be sure to include an email address. Entries close Friday, December 15.

Oscar has never liked the holidays and all the surrounding rigmarole, but that doesn’t stop his best friend from dragging him along for her Black Friday shopping spree. The only perk of the day is that he meets Nathan while he’s there.

With sparkling blue eyes, curly blond hair, and a smile that won’t stop, Nathan is a Christmas elf in the flesh. He even spends his days in a workshop! But Nathan is more than his bright smile, and he may be just the right person for Oscar. Assuming, of course, Oscar doesn’t drive him and his holiday spirit away first.

About Alex Whitehall
If there are two types of people in the world, Alex Whitehall probably isn't one of them, despite being a person. Their favorite pastimes include reading, horseback riding, sleeping, watching geek-tastic television, knitting, eating, and running. And wasting time on the internet. And spending glorious afternoons laughing with friends.
While Alex prefers sleeping over doing anything else (except maybe eating), sometimes they emerges from the cave to be social and to hunt for food at the local market. They can be found tweeting, watching anime, posting pictures of horses they ride, and tending after their aloe plant Cornwall. That’s a lie; the single plant has become an entire forest.
